Max Ingran

1908−1969, Bresso

Biography

An Italian designer and art director, one of the key figures in post-war Italian lighting design. He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he received an architectural education. Since the 1930s, he was associated with FontanaArte, where he later took on the role of artistic director. Ingran played a significant role in shaping the visual language of Italian design in the mid-20th century. His works are characterized by simplicity, attention to geometry, and experimentation with materials, primarily glass. He developed lighting fixtures where functionality is combined with expressive form. Among the most famous objects are the lamps created for FontanaArte, many of which are still in production and are considered classics of design.
