Biography

Designer, artist, and architect based in London. Known for his sheet metal works (steel, aluminum) that combine the weight of materials with elegance and flexibility of form.
Studied in Jerusalem and London (Architectural Association School of Architecture), where his classmates included Zaha Hadid and Peter Wilson. In 1989, he founded Ron Arad Associates. Gained initial fame with the Rover Chair made from a car seat and steel tubes.
Collaborated with brands such as Vitra, Kartell, Moroso, Alessi, Cassina, Swarovski, as well as Adidas, Samsung, and LG. A key architectural project is the Design Museum in Holon (Israel) featuring a corten steel facade shaped like a Möbius strip.
Taught at the Royal College of Art in London (until 2009), professor, honorary academician of the Royal Academy of Arts (2012). Exhibitions have taken place at the Pompidou Centre, Stedelijk, MoMA. Public sculptures include "Big Blue" (London), "Spyre" (London, 2016), and others.
